BS 7671 - otherwise referred to as I.E.E 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
The IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) is the applicable standard for the UK and similar requirements are implemented in many other countries. 

BS 3036 – BSHD60269-2-BS88-s 
Devices used to detect overloads and to break the circuit for protection against them, fall into three main categories

  • Semi-enclosed (rewirable) fuses to BS 3036 and cartridge fuses for use in plugs to BS 1362.
  • Low voltage fuses. Household to BSHD6029-3 and BS88-3
  • Circuit breakers, miniature and moulded case types to BS EN 60898.

Part P of the Building Regulations
Part P, brings domestic electrical installation work in England and Wales under the legal framework of the Building Regulations places a legal requirement for safety upon electrical installation work in dwellings, although the sector is highly regarded for its high levels of conformity with its principal standard, BS 7671. 

Water Regulations
The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 (or Byelaws 2000 in Scotland) are national requirements for the design, installation and maintenance of plumbing systems, water fittings and water-using appliances. Their purpose is to prevent misuse, waste, undue consumption or erroneous measurement of water and, most importantly, to prevent contamination of drinking water. They replace the former Water Byelaws which each water supplier had administered for similar purposes for many years.
